1. The Slow House-move: more furniture haps

Yesterday one of us got super-organised and took photos of all the furniture and put them into folders of type, ie: wardrobes, chests of drawers, etc. Then they got divided up between everyone who wanted a wardrobe, chest of drawers, etc.

A whole lot of it was unclaimed, and we don’t want it. So today there was lots of moving about of furniture, and I took a few photos to put some of it on Freecycle.

We just all feel like we can’t properly clean our rooms until the extra furniture is gone, you know? The downstairs flat of the house is SO skanky, and we all desperately want to clean up properly so we can move in and get stuck in with the DIY.

The downstairs kitchen, which is most sensible to use in terms of location and working cooker, has the most disastrous sink. The worktop around the sink is so rotten that it’s entirely squashy and horrible, and the cooker is only just usable, and the inside of some of the cupboards is horrendous. The cold taps downstairs don’t actually work.

However, once we’re more settled and moved in we can get started on making it better. At this rate it’ll probably only be a few days.
